How to Add Transmission Fluid to a Chrysler
- 1). Turn the Chrysler vehicle on and leave it in park. Let the engine idle for about 10 minutes to achieve the normal operating temperature.
- 2). Lift the hood of the vehicle and locate the transmission tube with the dipstick. This is generally on the left side of the engine with a long tube entering the transmission case near the bottom.
- 3). Pull the dipstick out of the tube and wipe it on a paper towel.
- 4). Push the dipstick back into the tube and then pull it out. Hold the dipstick horizontally and note the reading between "Full" and "Add." Each dot on the dipstick represents one quart of fluid.
- 5). Place a funnel in the dipstick tube and pour transmission fluid into the funnel. Let the fluid drain down into the tube. Remove the funnel.
- 6). Push the dipstick fully into the tube, pull it out and recheck the level. Add additional fluid if necessary to bring the level to the "Full" marking on the dipstick.
