An Easier Way to Connect Your iPod to a TV
- The simplest connection is the iPod AV cable (Apple model M9765G), which is compatible with fifth-generation iPods and the iPod photo. It plugs into the headphone jack of the iPod and connects to TVs via RCA (red, white, yellow) inputs.
- The composite cable (Apple model MB129LL) and component cable (Apple model MB128LL) are compatible with fifth-generation iPods and iPod photo, as well as third-generation or later iPod nanos and iPod touch. Each cable connects to your iPod's data port, and the RCA or component inputs on a TV. The component cable supports 480x576 progressive output for most models.
- The Apple Universal Dock and iPod Universal Dock can be used in conjunction with the cables in section 2 to connect to a TV. This method will keep your iPod charged while it plays media. In addition, the iPod Universal Dock can be used with a standard S-video cable to connect.
