- 1). Open iTunes and double-click the song you wish to make into a ring tone.
- 2). Document the exact portion of the song that you want to make the ring tone. For instance, if you wish to include a specific selection of the song that begins at the 1:32 time mark and ends at 1:55, make a note of these times.
- 3). Right-click the song and click "Get Info." Click the "Options" tab and place a check in the box next to "Start Time." Enter the ring tone's start time. Place a check in the box next to "Stop Time" and enter the ring tone's stop time. Click the "OK" button.
- 4). Click "Edit" from the iTunes menu bar and click "Preferences." Select the "General" tab and click the "Import Settings" button. Select "MP3 Encoder" from the "Import Using" drop-down menu. Click "OK" to accept the settings.
- 5). Right-click the song and select "Create MP3 Version." ITunes creates a copy of the song using the settings previously selected.
- 6). Right-click the new version of the song and click "Show in Windows Explorer." The ring tone's folder location opens in a new window. Right-click the file and click "Rename." Change the ring tone's file extension from ".m4a" to ".m4r." The ring tone is ready for transfer to your RAZR.
