Will Cases With Magnets Harm My Ipod?
- Attach the magnet on the case to your refrigerator. If it falls off or can be pulled off extremely easily, it's unlikely that it will hurt your iPod. If it holds on strongly, don't put it near your iPod.
- Beware of any fine print in the sales information for the iPod case that says the company is not responsible for any damage to your iPod. It shouldn't need to say that if your iPod is in no danger.
- The first few generations of iPod Nanos use a different kind of memory storage that is less sensitive to magnets.
- Turn your iPod off and on again if it has problems after exposure to a magnet. The next step, if that doesn't work, is to do a factory restore. Plug your iPod into your laptop or computer and click "Restore" under the iPod's settings.
