How to Hang Cordless Pleated Shades
- 1). Place the shade on the window frame. Mark the top of the window frame 4 to 5 inches inside the length of each end of the cellular shades. This is where you place the brackets. Do not mark over the operating mechanism of the cordless pleated shades.
- 2). Mark where to locate support brackets if the blind is longer than 30 inches. Space it halfway between the mounting brackets. Ensure it doesn't interfere with the operating mechanism. Skip this step if you don't have support brackets in the installation package.
- 3). Hold one of the mounting brackets in position. Mark the holes with a pencil. Repeat for the other brackets. Pre-drill holes through the window frame. Attach the mounting brackets with the screws included in the installation kit.
- 4). Slide the head rail of the cellular shade into the mounting brackets at an angle. As you straighten it, you should hear it lock into position on the back locking tab.
- 5). Grasp the shade by both sides of its bottom rail. Pull the shade down to cover the window. It may take up to 48 hours for the material in the window shade to relax enough to cover the entire window.
- 6). Connect the hold-down brackets to either side of the shade. Hold them in position over the window sill as you mark the location where you plan to install them. Pre-drill holes for the screws. Disconnect the brackets from the shade and attach them to the windowsill with the screws from the installation kit. Skip this step if you didn't order hold-down brackets.
