- 1). Apply anti-seize compound to the outer and inner splines of the inboard CV joint of your Polaris ATV's rear axle.
- 2). Align the splines and install the right side rear axle into the transmission output gear by sliding it straight on. It may be necessary to tap on the inner CV joint to aid in the installation with a rubber mallet to force the locking ring into the transmission output gear groove.
- 3). Pull back on the axle to make sure it is properly secured in the transmission. If the axles slides out, it was not installed correctly.
- 4). Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the left side rear axle. Shift the transmission into neutral and rotate both rear axles by hand to make sure they rotate freely with no binding or roughness.
