- 1). Press the "Home" button on your iPod touch.
- 2). Tap the "Settings" icon on the home screen. Tap "Wi-Fi."
- 3). Tap the "Wi-Fi" setting to "On."
- 4). Tap the "Ask to Join Networks" setting to "On." This causes the iPod touch to automatically try to connect to a Wi-Fi network when you 're in range of one.
- 5). Power on your computer.
- 6). Launch the Easy Wi-Fi Radar application on your computer. A map appears, and Easy Wi-Fi Radar starts scanning the area for local Wi-Fi hotspots. As it detects Wi-Fi hotspots, the application displays them on a map according to three types of access: Green squares indicate public-access sites that are unencrypted. Yellow squares indicate public-access sites that have a weak signal. Red squares indicate closed-access sites that are encrypted.
- 7). Move your laptop to another location if Easy Wi-Fi Radar doesn't detect a Wi-Fi hotspot that's accessible from your current position. The application works while you're driving with a laptop, enabling you to find open hotspots as you travel.
